Great lines spoken by Jack Nicholson in the movie A Few Good Men. In my view those famous words could be changed to speak directly to the real estate industry; you can’t handle the freedom.
Real Estate is changing. People are entering the industry at a younger age, which is uplifting, but many decide to start their real estate career simply because they’re tired of a 9-5 job.
They believe no matter how hard they work, the reward in a 9-5 job never matches the effort. They are drawn to real estate not only to earn more money, but because they see an opportunity to have more freedom in their day-to-day life. But unfortunately for many people, being incapable of handling the freedom is one of the great stumbling blocks that exists in real estate.
The number one reason that people fail in our industry is their inability to handle the freedom.
If you’re reading this and don’t think it applies to you, I ask you to flick your diary forward three weeks – what’s in it?
How true
Very True and couldn’t agree more
Could not agree more with it.
This is so true, Mark.
I believe that the majority of salespeople of today, want the income but are not prepared to put in the hard yards. Try phoning an agent after 7.30pm and see who answers the phone….not many.
But all of my salespeople will answer….Thought I had better add this…
The greater the freedom we have the greater the self discipline required. That applies in real estate as well in society.
